I like this little tissue case because you can use regular tissues in it...I forget to buy the special little packages for the other tissue cases.
I hope I can explain this ok...may have to do 2 posts to get the pics in First you need your main fabric, lining and medium weight interfacing each cut at 5 1/2" x 10 1/2" Lay the interfacing down with the lining fabric right side up...fold into thirds....about 3 1/2" at each end toward the center...lay 2 pieces of 1/8th " or 1/4" ribbon across the lining near the folds...just a tad toward the center of the fold. pin in place and then lay your main fabric wrong side up onto the lining and interfacing and stitch with 1/4" seam around leaving an opening at the center between the ribbons on one side... clip the corners and turn and stitch the opening closed and press well |

after you have pressed your case just fold tissues and slip them into the case under the pieces of ribbon ... I hope I have made this clear enough

Great tutorial! I don't always buy the small tissues either!
I recognize that material from the purse. Great job! |
Great idea. My husband complains because the small tissue packs are too small for him.
Thanks for the tute. Judy |
Lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Neat idea, looks like an idea for a craft show item.
|
great thanks for sharing.
I had just made a pocket and folded into 3rds and used that but I do like this idea too |
Loved your tute I will share it with my friends so handy when you don't have those tiny packs Thanks so much

This is a great idea! Thank you for going through the trouble of making such a great tutorial.
|
What a great, great idea! My mother is always rummaging with her tissues. I'm going to make her one this weekend!

Sue! This allergy sufferer thanks you from the bottom of her heart to the tip of her runny nose! Those little packages get costly, too! Love your idea!

They are layered in the box and not pop ups that have to be refolded. |
Isn't that interesting. Nice tut.
|
Like the fact you can use the big tissues...You always have great ideas
|
Great tutorial and so creative! I wonder if it would be possible to use strips of elastic under which to slip the tissues?

Regardless, this is a GREAT idea for gift giving and I am going to share it with my quilting buddies. Am already thinking of how to jazz it up in different ways. Don't you just love it when new ideas surface! |

You may be right about that. I was just thinking that it would be easier to put the tissues in and get them out again. Won't know until we try it. Don't you just love it when new ideas surface![/qu My friend always did hers with elastic and had no problems at all..but I just like the looks of the ribbon better so I tend to use the ribbon more....and how will you "jazz it up" ??? |
