This is stunning, Roolen. I have a baby grandson named Hunter and I am going to make one of these for him. Your work is absolutely exquisite!!!!

Roolen, thank you so much for posting this. This block is the very block I had planned to make my next quilt with! You have made it very easy. I actually have that Companion Angle but have never used it. I will now! Many thanks.

What a brilliant way to do Hunter's Star. Thanks so much for a wonderful tutorial. I've tried this block a couple of ways and have been unhappy with the results. This looks like I will have success at last!

Would you consider this star beginning or intermediate? I want to pass it on to someone who has only done easy quilts so am not sure if she is ready for this or not. Thanks :)

kathymarie 02-15-2011 06:11 AM

What a great tutorial. I made one about 30 years ago using templates...it was before I had a rotary cutter even. Now I can't wait to make another one. I've bookmarked this and can't wait to check out your blog. Thanks for sharing.

Prayerquilter 03-11-2011 05:50 PM

Thank you for sharing this. It is a beautiful block. Looks really hard, but you've made it seem so easy. I will be making this one real soon.

That is terrific Roolen, I was at a "Quilt Show" on saturday & I watched a demonstration doing the "Hunters Star" & you couldn't have done it any better. I baught a special ruler there. I think I wasted my money. According to your tut I don't really need it. But that's not the first time I wasted my money.

Weenween 04-22-2011 05:29 AM

Oh man just gorgeous.I really would like to make one someday,I have to work my way up I not a great quilt maker yet. LOL

knlsmith 04-24-2011 07:21 AM

this is a great tutorial. L

Carol Wilson 04-24-2011 01:57 PM

Dear Roolen,

Your quilt is stunning so simple dare I say elegant.

Your photographs and instructions are very clear, love this block, I especially like quilts that do not use lots of colors as the block design can be "lost" in the overall quilt, with just two or three colors you can really go overboard and have a stunning quilt, I have bookmarked this method, thankyou.

Seeing as the strips are 1 1/2 inches wide, ideal for any spare "Honey Buns".

What is the finished size of each block please?

fabric lover 04-30-2011 01:08 PM

That's very clear, thank you, I'ld love to make a quilt with those blocks

Cuddly Quilter 05-01-2011 09:49 AM
