Haha...it simply means that the block isn't symmetrical as you use two widths of strips...making it 'uneven LOL!

debbiewi 03-10-2011 09:32 AM

thanks, it's a beautiful quilt

It is gorgeous, and thanks for the idea of the tute, but it's a zip file & I can't open that.

You can download a free programme to unzip just use google and search for free winrar or the likes, I had to condense the file as I included so many pictures...unless my friend Patrice can alter it so everyone can open...oh Patrice...can you help me out here!!!!!!!!

Here's a link to a free programme, if that helps!

Glad to hear it, what I forgot to mention that each block takes about 30 minutes only!! So no excuse not to whip a quilt up in a few hours!!!

Thanks for the idea of the Acrobat Reader. Rather than try to open the zip file, I saved it & had no problem opening & saving it. It's 31 pages long  so will wait until I'm sure I'm ready for it, before printing it off.
Absolutely great job on the tute IZY

Prairie Quilter 03-10-2011 04:58 PM

Thank you so much for posting that ever so detailed tutorial!! It's terrific.

Patchworkmarion 03-10-2011 05:25 PM

Wonderful. Thank you

Alondra 03-10-2011 05:56 PM

Izy, is there any other format you can send this in? I cannot unzip it, because I don't have that program and don't want to purchase it. Thank you so much!

I am so sorry that you are having difficulties opening the file. If you google ...'free winrar' that are numerous free downloadable programmes that will do it in a jiffy for you, or as someone else suggested saving the file and opening it with acrobat...

Let me know how you get on, or maybe somebody else has more suggestions?

Well done! I have been wondering how long it would take for some one to spot it! Thankfully the blocks were just laid out on the floor in this shot LOL!!

Izy!

Your quilt is beautiful and thank you so much for the tute! In your directions you said that you download the 8.5" uneven log cabin from the net. Would you share the addy for that please?

Yes, please! I`m on a computer that isn`t technically mine so I`m not in a position to download whatever program is required to unzip the tute. I realize it`s just a matter of "skinny lights and thicker dark logs" but it`s frustrating to be offered a tute and unable to access it.

QuiltNama 03-10-2011 07:25 PM

Love the colors in your quilt. Nice work

Hmmmm...I will have to do a google as I forgot to save it!

I will see what I can find for you Bonnie!

Here is one for a 7" finished block, to enlarge just add more rounds to it!

Beautiful quilt! Thanks so much for writing up the directions and posting them for us. I was able to open (unzip) the file and especially enjoyed your terminology (squiffy, doddle, squint) :-) Not so often heard on this side of the pond.

Did you consider using paper rather than Vilene?
