I got it at Joann's last week when it was 50% off.

Have you noticed that the variety of Easter fabric has been nothing compared to other years. I have been to Hobby Lobby, Joann's, the quilt shops and there just hasn't been a lot to choose from. I picked this because of the colors.

NancyG 04-01-2011 01:21 PM

Thanks for the tute. Love your fabric choices. Very springy!

craftybear 04-01-2011 01:43 PM

with those scraps! :D:D

SueJ 04-01-2011 03:08 PM

I am so glad that you showed us how to do it! Just need to get the template now...

CarrieAnne 04-01-2011 07:14 PM

thanks!

qbquilts 04-01-2011 07:30 PM

Thanks for the tute. I don't think I can bring myself to do one yet - it seems like it wastes fabric :-(. But you did answer my question in how this template works to make the quilt.

sik1010 04-02-2011 03:10 AM

Thanks for the tutorial & love your fabrics!

Thanks for the tute! I can follow written directions but I love the photos to go along with written. It really helps me to see the finished product. I have the Little Twister and the Large Twister and while at a LQS in Ohio, the lady told me they are coming out with the Micro and a Mini Twister tool. Whew won't that be something?

You hit the jackpot on that one. Great quilt, great method, clear explanation.
Thanks

Hmmm. maybe I won't have to take the class, just buy the template and watch the tute again!

Thanks!

letsquilt 04-02-2011 04:53 AM

Thanks for the tute, I have that size tool also I have a smaller one that uses 3" blocks that i got in houston. Still havent made one yet but saving this love the pictures to go by.

jdiane318 04-02-2011 05:03 AM

I should add that there are two very important things that you should do to make sure you have a successful experience with any of the twister tools:
1. When you cut each block for one row. Stack the first block on top of the 2nd block, make sure you keep them in the order you cut them or you will have a jig-saw mess. Just for safety's sake, use safety pins to keep the blocks attached in their correct order until you reach your comfort level.
2. Make sure you put on borders and remember to cut your first block using those corner borders. This is very important to the process and your success.

Thanks for this great tute. I bought this ruler a couple of weeks ago, but haven't tried to use it yet as I'm in the middle of a couple other projects I want to finish first.

Lyncat 04-02-2011 06:24 AM

That is nice! I love the fabric. My question is, How do people figure out how to do these crazy cuts and get neat patterns like that. My mind just doesn't work that way.

I often wonder that myself. When it is either an easier way to make a block or special ruler or quilt cutting layout I just don't see where these ideas come from. Many of the tuts on YouTube make me ask the same question. Must be their special aptitude that allows them to see things differently but it amazes me. Ann in Tn

Linda OH 04-02-2011 06:39 AM

If you are careful when you cut around the template, you can use the scraps for another quilt. I started with a layer cake and the large template. I used the scraps and the small template to make a second quilt. The scraps from that were too cute to throw out, so I made a third project with the squares.

blueeyez 04-02-2011 06:54 AM

Linda OH, Thanks for sharing your three projects. Will have to remember that when I use the big template.

Gwenny 04-02-2011 08:25 AM

I am fairly new to this so this is the first looking for Easter fabric. This has been a struggle finding Easter fabric.

Thanks for the tute. You make it look simple.

kathymarie 04-03-2011 11:28 AM

What a great tutorial....if this is your first attempt I can't wait until number ten is posted! Thanks for taking the time to do this....

Raggiemom 04-03-2011 11:53 AM

Thanks for the great tutorial.

jdiane318 04-03-2011 11:59 AM

I appreciate all the kind comments and 'thanks', for this tutorial. I know that you all are not little children but when it comes to something that people don't understand or can comprehend how something works, this was a step-by-step
process. I hope that this helped those who weren't sure of how the template worked and encouraged others to step outside their box to try a new technique. Can't wait to see your Twister!!!

beachbum3263 04-04-2011 12:42 PM

Love it!! Thanks so much!
