Thanks for sharing. Always great gifts!

quilterj 08-21-2010 06:15 PM

Those are nice heavy potholders. I am going to put them on my to do list for sure.

Dee 08-21-2010 06:23 PM

Thanks for sharing. Great idea.

BettyB 08-21-2010 07:22 PM

Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us. This is really great and I think I may try making some place mats with this pattern using some very light weight batting.

SandyinZ4 08-21-2010 07:56 PM

You are a super person for making such a neat tutorial. Thanks so much. Everything was so easy to understand. Just one more thing on my list of things to do now, though. Sigh!

ssnare 08-21-2010 08:31 PM

Thank you. Great tute.

bjdemir 08-21-2010 08:58 PM

Will be trying these potholders, nice and heavy. I usually use one layer of insulbrite and 1 layer of regular batting. But these are really different.

Judie 08-21-2010 09:03 PM

Great tut Moonrise! Those are wonderful and you can never have too many potholders!! and such great gifts!

I have also used the 'not so worn' edges of thick terry towel when they have gotten too thin in the middle.. or washcloths.. Terry works great if you don't happen to have Insul-Bright on hand. (100% Cotton Terry Towels that is)

moonrise 08-21-2010 09:35 PM

Wow! Thanks for all the responses. :-D

I'll probably make a bunch of these for Christmas gifts, and perhaps some for the potholder swap as well. ;)

Wouldn't they be cute in simple Christmas shapes, like bells or Christmas trees? :)

Great idea and excellent way to use up some scraps -- thank you.

ReeneeD 08-22-2010 07:35 AM

Terrific tutorial - must have taken you a lot of time to share all that with us. I am tired of the project I am working on and I am going to make a couple of these clever pot holders right now!!!!!

craftybear 08-22-2010 10:56 AM

have fun making your potholders

Please share some photos if you can!

SandyinZ4 08-22-2010 06:37 PM

I agree- let us see what you are getting tired of. Perhaps we can inspire you. I was wondering if there is a place on this board to 'show off' our mistakes...mainly to make sure no one else makes them!

ReeneeD 08-22-2010 06:39 PM

I made one already - only took about 20 minutes. I love it.
I am going to make them for all my friends! Thanks again.

zz-pd 08-22-2010 08:13 PM

Thank you so much for doing that. You did a great job. God bless.

Nonnie2all 08-23-2010 05:52 AM

Thank You Sooo Much! I love this idea! Can't wait to make some! We have a "New" Motor Home and it needs New pot hoders, also all the ones in my kitchen are old and stained, so I will be making a lot of them. 2 of our daughters need new pot holders for their "new" homes--what a wonderful house warming gift!! Thanks again!! Nonnie

candi 08-23-2010 05:52 AM

Great Tut Moonrise. I will be making some of these for friends.

maryel 10-17-2010 03:15 PM

Just watched the tut and as soon as I complete my quilt I am on to these potholders and some log cabin placemats! Thank you for taking the time to do this...

leakus 12-06-2010 07:03 PM

Moonrise, you just solved my problem. Last week it took me hours to do 2 potholder. Never again I said and put the Christmas fabric I bought for some potholders in a box. I will now retrieve it and use it as you did. Thanks for an easy project and great tutorial.

elsieirene 12-06-2010 07:06 PM

Gee thanks! They are great! I make pot holders for family and friends. They make nice gifts too!

AngieS 12-06-2010 07:13 PM
