I sure will Luvy! I will do a new thread after each clue I think.. that way it is on the TOP of the post. :)

It would be good to number it too--just to make sure none are missed.

Missy gave us a "free" hint from the beginning that your focus fabric will be cut into 12.5'', so whatever will look good cut into that size will work, it doesn't have to be floral.

Mysi:

I don't see a place where you tell which pieces should be light or dark, and I didn't see we needed a large print.

Can I have another h int?

I have several fabrics that would go with that print. I made a quilt top that was supposed to be orange, but it all came out sort of peachy with some splashes of orange and yellow. I'm sure you will find lots of things to go with this beautiful fabric.

Where did you discover we needed a large floral print. I can't find any clues to choosing fabric.

The size of the focus fabric pcs are 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 and I think that is the one lots are using large florals for since they would fit. You don't need a floral thats just what alot are using

Hi! Info is here...
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-81693-17.htm#2066847

mtngrl 12-17-2010 01:32 PM

Wow! Love the response! LOL I've pm'd everyone that sent me a message back, but if you haven't done it send me your email address and I'll get you the fabric requirements out. We will start it in late Dec, and it will be one 'clue' every week until it's done! I look forward to seeing different views! Hint: Pick a big print focus. This one is great for that purpose. Then pick the colors from that to augment the rest of the quilt.. Hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to PM me!

This is on the Calling all Mystery Quilters page ...Missy's post, instead of emails she is posting the info now.

Will pillow panels work for the 12 1/2 inch squares?

Short an Sweet 12-19-2010 03:16 PM

go to the page you want to bookmark and at the top left of the board page there is a tab that says "bookmark" click on that and it will come up with a space for you to "nickname" the page (optional) and then there is a button next to that one that asks if you want the bookmarked page to be public (anyone can see youve bookmarked it) or private(only you will see it) click save and you're done

please excuse my silly questions. I am very new to quilting and am learning the terminology etc.
On the cutting instructions. it says say cut 2 strips of 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 then it says total of 16 pcs. how can you have 16 peices if you only cut 2 strips? already confused and we havent even started yet.

JoAnn,
When you cut the strips, you are cutting them selvage to selvage across the width of the fabric...this should be around 42'' give or take. For this particular example you mentioned, you'll cut two of these strips 2.5'' wide. Then you cut these strips into 4.5'' wide pieces, you should be able to get 8 pieces that are 2.5x4.5'' per strip and 16 from the two strips. Does this make sense?

You'll be fine... Cut 2 strips of Color 1. Subcut them into 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 rectangles to get 16 pieces. Don't worry we are learning, right? I knew I'd have questions. HUGS!

Last night I went shopping for my fabric, I don't have a stash yet. My son helped me pick out some of the colors. I think because it is for me I am having a hard time with where to have the each color. Suggestions will be welcome.
