raptureready 09-01-2010 06:11 AM

I usually read a book in one evening but this would make a beautiful Bible cover too. Thank you for the tute.

Charleen DiSante 09-01-2010 06:14 AM

Great job! Thanks for the tutorial ... I think I'll adjust it just a bit and make a cover for my Nook.

Here is a URL I received from "Quilt This" newsletter for a kindle cover: http://www.nationalsewingmonth.org/f...over_HowTo.pdf

Jim's Gem 09-01-2010 02:29 PM

Thanks for the tute!!

Patty Sue 09-01-2010 02:46 PM

Nice idea. Thanks. I always have a spare book with me,
just in case...don't want to be caught without something to
read. And if the book cover matches my purse, skirt, car seat,
etc, then all the better.

leaha 09-01-2010 05:44 PM

Hi,
Nice job! But can you tell me how do you make the handles?

quilterj 09-02-2010 11:48 AM

Thank you for the tutorial. Now I can make one for my mom.

wildyard 09-02-2010 07:29 PM

bjdemir 09-02-2010 08:15 PM

Yes what is a kindle?

Rainbow 09-03-2010 02:22 AM

Sounds nice and concise !!

cc 09-03-2010 07:02 AM

A Kindle is a hand-held device that you can use to read electronic books with (commonly called ebooks)

Ah, thanks for the explanation!!! Always learning something here!!

Dar-midlife 09-03-2010 11:23 AM

How do you determine the size to alter for each different book? How much do you need to allow for closing the book? I hope this is clearer than mud!! I guess I'm thinking of a general formula?

Annz 09-03-2010 06:12 PM

You did a good job. Thanks.

I think you would measure the width of the front and back cover and the spine, and add perhaps 1/2" for closing and folding, plus the amount folded over inside the covers.

Dar-midlife 09-03-2010 06:46 PM

Thanks Wildyard!

denilynne 09-04-2010 11:43 AM

You can use anything, i just took fabric and folded it in thirds, like you were making a bias binding, sewed down the middle with decorative stitch. then stitched it to the outside of the cover. Hope this helps you. If not let me know.

Quilter2B 09-12-2010 05:52 AM

I like the idea that you used a snap to keep it closed while not being read. I hate pulling a paperback out of my bag only to find it all twisted or bent up. Great tute! You did a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing.

Gidget 09-12-2010 03:44 PM

This is a great idea!

maggie2122 10-08-2010 06:47 PM

Good Job! Neat idea.

RkayD 10-11-2010 09:57 AM

I love how you put a magnet snap on. Is it "bulky" at all?
