You stitch from the front either side of the sashing strips - the black strips on this example. Because the joining strips on the back are slightly wider, this means you'll stitch them in place at the same time. :-D

Like so many others here your tute has given me new hope for some of my projects - Love your heart but I was just thinking -- maybe continuing the diagionals to make the heart meet in the middle with one center line instead of having the vertical blocks - anxious to give it a try :)

That is the fun of this I think - you can get all sorts of different effects just by working with colour values and/or the orientation of the strips. :-D

I cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. I have a bad back and cannot quilt large quilts. I have wanted to do QAYG for a long time but didn't want to hand sew. THANKS!!!! :thumbup: :P

Yes that's a good way. There is also a Clover bias tape maker that is an inch wide, or you could buy ready made tape or cotton ribbon if you wanted to. :-D
