Several folks have contacted me about the quilt pattern in my avatar. I designed that myself using Electric Quilt. I have attached a tutorial for it. The file is in Acrobat Reader .pdf format. The pattern is for a twin with no borders. My avatar has borders. Thanks for your interest.

Nice job making that.
Quilters cache has one similar called shooting stars made in a 12" block. Neat quilt idea.

If you take this same block and turn some of them, you can create a geometric pattern on your quilt top. I made a signature quilt for my mom using this block, with signatures in the white middle. The blocks in each quarter of the quilt are turned a different direction.

Great tutorial..thanks for sharing, your quilt is lovely. This would work using layer cake squares I would think, one would have to adjust the size of the corner triangles though.

Mine is called Floating Stars. I love it and it is so much fun to make. Edie
