Some of you asked how I did this. Pictures aren't the best. But you will get the idea.
I cut my strips 2 inches wide. You can use whatever size you want, just be consistant.

Pick the two strips you want for the foundation square.

Sew those two strips together

cut them into two inch segments (if using two inch strips)

Press open

Choose next strip and sew these segments to it

Cut into segments

Press, add next strip

To cut into segments line up your ruler on the bottom and the side

continue adding strips until you get the block the size you want.

I like that idea! I have so many strips left from making my uneven log cabin, I might just use them to make a 'quick' log cabin with, thanks for the tute

Great instructions and like the outcome ;)

mom-6 03-14-2011 08:46 AM

So much easier than the way I tried doing a log cabin the first time! I had said NEVER AGAIN, but now I'm ready to give it a second chance.

IBQUILTIN 03-14-2011 09:42 AM

I've seen so many log cabins done with PP, that I thought maybe this method was not as good. Thank you for reinforcing the ease of this block. I will now do another log cabin.

Veronika 03-14-2011 10:53 AM

I love the floral fabrics you use! Really a fast way to make this blocks

craftymatt2 03-14-2011 10:58 AM

klarina 03-14-2011 12:14 PM

I think I am kind of slow today. It took me to read this tut 3 times before I understood the technique.

now that I got it right, lol, I think I will try it... this seems much easier than the regular method.

thanx

brightstar_202 03-14-2011 04:35 PM
