You make that sound easy. I guess I can try it.....I do like the idea of some of the geese going in the opposite direction - as in two lines flying north and the one in the middle, south. I have a copy on making flying geese that I got out of a library book. It's titled "Quick piecing 4-in-1 Flying Geese". I'll try it on scrap fabric first..

This is a premiere site for patterns. At the top right of the first page, she has a link to click on that has a number of ways to make flying geese. Let us know how it turns out <wave> http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-19452-1.htm This is a picture of what I was talking about. I went up to the top of any Quilting Board page, clicked on the word "search" - - typed in "flying geese" in the box that showed up, clicked on "search" and I got a whole list of threads on this site with flying geese doing any number of things <g> enjoy!<wave> |
You are very welcome, Woodster <wave>

Okay, color me dense. You take all the strips and sew them end to end to make one long strip. Then you cut it in half and sew in together lengthwise. Cut that in half and repeat? If not, please explain so that this fibro-fogged brain can get it.

Of course, if you cut them in half first? then you won't get that bow in the side that I got on mine <wave> |
I have mine all done ...want to get another jelly roll and get another one started...love this pattern.
I wish now that I sorted out the colors so they would be spaced better.....anyway it will keep grandchild warm and they won't care where the colors landed... as I sewed it randomly.... |
Fabulous! I am teaching my granddaughters (9 and 12) to quilt. They can do a disappearing nine patch and just plain squares; this will be a great project for the summer and get rid of some of my stash (really just my excuse to go out and buy more). They both have gift certificates to the LQS and are just waiting for school to end so they can spend them. Mucho thanks!

I did try this and I am not a fan of it. But I cut strips and had a few duplicates. well that don't work because they ended up being next to each other, even tho I put one solid color then the print and so on. Nope doesn't work.I hope you have better luck than I did.
