OK, I am a new at this! Can someone tell me what a jelly role is? The directions say you need 1 jelly roll but then it says to sew all the jelly rolls together....told you I was new!

Thank you soooooo much!! This is perfect for a last minute gift or for something to practice free motion on. I'm going right now to eyeball my jelly stash!

AMEN!
What a wonderful plan.
If you don't mind, when I do it next week, I will take pictures as I go along and make a tutorial of this quilt. Would that be okay? (I know <g> I have some other projects to get done first, but it never hurts to be prepared for the next idea <g>)
This one is just too quick, easy, and appealing to wait any longer! <wave>

A jelly roll (typically) is a roll of forty different fabrics from one line, cut at 2.5" wide.
You can make your own jelly rolls, by cutting forty strips of 2.5" wide the width of the fabric ... does that help?
Welcome to the Quilting Board! <wave>

It might be fun to stop at 8 rows together, then cut them in 16 1/2 " lengths. You could sew them across (vertical/horizontal, vertical), then the 2nd row (horizontal, vertical, horizontal) Would that work? Sort of a checkerboard for chess board effect. You could improvise on this one in many ways. Bev

Thanks for the pattern. Also a great way to get rid of scraps!

Good girl! You will find that as a beginner (or even experienced) quilter, you have come to the right place to become well-informed, educated, and encouraged.

OMG, this is absolutely brilliant!! I have a couple of jelly rolls for which I haven't found a pattern I like so this will do quite nicely!! I'm always amazed by people who can see things in another "light"!! Thanks for sharing!
