I have one of these in my car with a strap of elastic that goes across the back...I can keep the tissues on my visor right in reach.

probles 03-18-2011 06:25 PM

Thank you so much. I wanted to make some of those as small gifts and was going to look up a pattern. I appreciate you posting it here.

Nanclm 03-18-2011 06:51 PM

Love this. I always end up with loose tissues in my purse so this should help.
Thank you!

Great tutorial! My girlfriend made these for my greatniece's elementary school faculty and staff for Teacher Appreciation Day. As a former teacher, I know how much they will all appreciate them!

Oh my gosh - so so adorable - I am at my friend's house/barn in VT - we did 10 Shop Hops yesterday

We came across these tissue holders and wanted a quick and easy project - they are so adorable, and are truly quick and easy to make - thanks so much for sharing - these are the hit of the weekend retreat

I just made two of them in less than ten minutes counting cutting time following your tut, thanks so much, what a fun quick project

survivor 03-22-2011 01:44 PM

this is a fabulous item for a fund raiser.
I run a craft group and I am running out
of ideas. Do you have any other quick and
easy things to make?
thanks,
survivor

roseOfsharon 03-22-2011 01:55 PM

I love these tissue holders! Made one with batting and stippling on the smaller piece. Came out really cute.
Such an easy project!

very cute with the stippling...do you think they need the batting? I haven't batted mine...

wvdek 03-27-2011 09:51 AM

Well I'll be darned! How simple is that?

No they don't need the batting, I wanted to see how it would look, give it a bit more "character" with stippling. But they are great without it, too!

BATIKQLTR 03-27-2011 11:25 AM

Wow....these are soooooo cute and easy!! Love the piped edge on the top. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern (and pictures) with us. I just made up 12 of them in no time with fabric scraps. I like to make a paperback book cover for people in the hospital or sick, now I can add one of these to match.

Great tutorial!!!! Do you have an idea on how to make an easy wallet???????

PS> I really like the idea of putting elastic on and putting it on the visor in the car like mentioned above. THX

nellie 03-27-2011 07:59 PM

cool thanks for pattern

I wanted to add that this technique would work well on the check book covers too. When you make the pockets that hold the checkbook and register, just make outside a bit shorter and the lining a bit longer* and that would make the little trim on the edge and easier to find where to insert each part. :-) * I would think that trimming off 1/2 inch on outside part and adding 1/2 inch to lining would do it.

craftybear 09-17-2011 05:05 PM

roseOfsharon 09-17-2011 05:07 PM

Thanks for the demo and what a great gift idea! :)

Scakes 09-17-2011 05:09 PM

Love your fabric choices. They are so cheerful. Great tutorial.

This is the way I make mine and I agree it is super easy. I just finished a pile of them for a friend to sell at a craft show as she got laid off from her job and is trying to make some money.

Quilted Dogs 09-17-2011 05:25 PM

Thanks for the tute.......my friend's daughter is getting married and she is making necklaces for the bridesmaids, 5 of them. She wants to do something to hold them in. I think this would be great dont u, even though it is a kleenex holder, it will hold the hand crocheted necklaces great and make them in satin the color of the dresses.

If you wanted to use them to hold your "treasures" you could sew a small loop on one side and a button on the other side.

Corkiesmom 09-18-2011 07:30 AM

Great idea! Thank you for sharing.
