I sell them for $11 plus a few extra bucks for shipping. I would take better pictures if I had a working camera. Maybe someone. Please feel free to ask for clarification as well. I know my directions are a bit off.

Thank you so much for this tutorial mamabird!! I just made my first tea bag wallet and now I plan to make them for teacher/ therapist/nurses gifts for my daughter's school. She is handicapped and I always send in little gifts for everyone and had no ideas for this year. You're a life saver!!

I wanted to share the tea bag wallets that I made today. The batik one has a very pretty vintage glass button that is an irredescent blue color and the button on the other one is a little river rock that I picked up at my sister's vacation house. She bought a little cabin on a river in PA last year and she just loves it. Every year she asks for tea bags in her Christmas stocking. So, I made this wallet for her and I drilled holes in the river rock to make the button. I know that she will love it!
Thanks again! I can't believe how much I have learned in my short time here at this forum! |
Zappycat, you did a wonderful job on those wallets. People who get them will love them. I made three out of a fabric with teacups on it. Tea drinkers love to get them. Thanks, Mamabird, for posting this tutorial.

Not being one to know how to sew, other than a quilt, I think with this tutorial, I can actually make something that resembles a sewing project.. I am going to attempt it, and possibly make enough for some stocking stuffers.. Thanks so much!!!
|
I am so glad you all are using this tut... I know I still need to do the wristlets. I will do one when my DD gets the camera for Christmas... lol mine is broken.

Mamabird3,
I can't thank you enough! My teacher/therapists/ nurses gifts for my handicapped daughter's school are now completed (yey!!) and filled with an assortment of Bigelow tea packets that The Christmas Tree Shop was selling. I think that they make very nice personal gifts... from the heart! I'm going to put them in little cello bags and tie a tag on each one that says "Beccah thinks you are tea-rrific!" Thank you! Torrie |
I am not what you call a quick study when it comes to following written instructions.I have been working on this all afternoon trying to figure out what the pictures are telling me and what the instructions are.
It seems like so many others are getting it with out a bit of trouble.I just don't get the folding part. It is a great little tea bag holder and it looks so easy. But I will leave it alone for now and try again later. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern.grannyann |
That would be great for traveling. Thanks
|
Thank you!! I am a tea drinker and this is perfect for me. Will be great gifts!
|
Everyone I have made one for just love them...something so different. You can not make just one. :)

I really love the idea of this and your tutorial is well done. I just got in a huge order of tea and will make a few of these to send out... thank you!!!!
|
Thank you
|
Love it. My BFF gave me one as a gift and now I can pay it forward. I travel quite a bit, and it is perfect for that. By the way, if you are going for an extended trip, 2 teabags will fit in each cubby.

Wow.. Just when I think this post has died down for good it pops back up again. I love that everyone is enjoying making the teabag wallets. So cool!
Thinking of designing a coupon carrier. Once I finish everything else I have to do!!! |

I Love it. your tut is great. :-)

I finally made two of these the other day! I had loved seeing this when it was posted, and bookmarked it planning on making some, but got busy doing other things...then the other day someone posted on this thread so it popped up and I decided to bite the bullet and do it! The hardest thing is deciding what teas to put in the pockets! :) Thanks so much for the tute!
|
OHHHHHHH my gosh that is a awesome project. I love it thank you so much for sharing.
|
How cute is that!
QUOTE=mamabird3;1506589]I have had many requests for this pattern. Please bear with me, since I don't have a pattern to follow I will have to just put it in my own words with bad cell phone pictures. Please feel free to ask for clarification on anything. Here we go.... Cut a 9" X 1" strip of fabric fold in half with wrong sides together and press then open and fold edges into the middle press fold in half again and press (just like binding) Sew down the length to make the loop for the tea wallet[/QUOTE] |

Mamabird3, I have looked at every tutorial and cannot find the wristlet? Were you able to do it??? Your tea bag wallet is terrific!!
|
Maggie I am so sorry, I did not do a wristlet tutorial. I won't have time to anytime soon. I am trying to remember where i got the pattern from so I can post a link for you.
I have lost track of everything in the move and am still needing to go through the closet and find it. :) |
Is there a picture of the "wristlet" that everyone keeps talking about?? Is it a pincushion or what?
|
that is awesome-thanks for the tute
|
I made several of the teabag wallets for Christmas gifts and also made a matching purse tissue holder from this tutorial: http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...r-t107636.html
They make a nice set when the fabric matches. I included a set in my box to my Secret Santa partner here on the Board. I love both of these tutorials. |
Great tutorial, thanks for taking the time and effort to post this. These teabag wallets make really nice little gifts or craft sale items. I've made a bunch of these over the past couple of years.

An extra goodie

I made one of these as an add on goodie to send with my MR swap, turned out great!
|
Mamabird3, I saw the cutest little girl in the kiddy seat of a shopping cart at Walmart. She wore a pretty dress with matching wristlets on her arms. She acted as if she knew she looked pretty. What a resourceful mama! Hope you find the link to make these.
|
Ok ladies.. I found the pattern for the wristlet. I am not going to do a tutorial on it but it is from Lazy Girl Design. The pattern name is "Maggie". I believe it comes in two different sizes, but I enlarged the pattern to make a purse for my reading device. I also changed how I did the handle. Have fun with it!! I'll post a pic of the ones I made if I can find them.
