I have had many requests for this pattern. Please bear with me, since I don't have a pattern to follow I will have to just put it in my own words with bad cell phone pictures. Please feel free to ask for clarification on anything. Here we go....
Cut a 9" X 1" strip of fabric fold in half with wrong sides together and press then open and fold edges into the middle press fold in half again and press (just like binding) Sew down the length to make the loop for the tea wallet |

Cut a 20" X 16" Fabric
Fold in half lengthwise right sides together so it measures 10" X 16" and sew a 1/4 seam. move seam to the center and press open Pic 1 Sew a 1/4 seam on one end only Pic 2 |

On the under end, fold the edge down about 1/2" and press.
Pic 1 Turn wallet right side out and press sew 1/4" seam on the edge of the sewn edge. Fold up 2 1/2" and pin **be sure you fold up on the seam side** Sew 1/4 seam on the edge of the fold. Pic 2 On the unsewn edge, fold up 5" and then fold back 2 1/2 Inches. Press and then sew 1/4" seam at the top of the pocket like the other side. (See picture, I know it doesn't sound right.. lol) |
1 Attachment(s)
Take the loop and side it under the layers of the unsewn side. Use the center seam for guidance. Sew 1/4" seam down the unsewn side. Back stitch over the loop.
Next sew 1/4" seam down both sides. Measure and sew about 3 1/4" from each side of the wallet to make the pouches. I put tea bags in them first ot make sure they will fit. |

Fill up with the teabags, fold (tri folding) and mark where to sew on your button.
Ok.. I am hoping I didn't miss anything. Please ask away if I am (and I probably am) unclear about anything. I will include several pics so hopefully you can see from those how it should look. |

What a cute idea! My sister loves tea, so I've printed this up and will give one a try! Thanks for taking the time to post for us!
|
Great job. Many ways these could be used. I was thinking about small note pads and crayons for a child.
|
And I was thinking it would be really cute if you machine embroidered an initial....
|
Such a good idea. Thanks for the tute.

That was a great tutorial. I plan to make one for a special friend who loves hot tea.
Thank you |
Thanks so much for doing this. Will give it a try tonight.
|
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I need this. I keep tea bags in my purse for the times a restaurant serves only Lipton or some other brand I don't care for, or for when they you ask for a second cup and they bring only hot water but no fresh bag (I'd sure like to see them do that for coffee drinkers! I tip extra if a waitress brings me a sencond teabag.)
|
Very nice! These would make very nice teacher or friend gifts. Or church member.
|
Thanks so much for the tutorial :)
|
perhaps one could make it a little larger to carry pads
|
Great tut. Thanks so much.
|
One of my best friends always carries tea with her.. usually in a worn plastic zip bag.. This is perfect for a little gift for her.. Thank you!! It's cute and practical and a small enough gift that she won't feel like she has to give me something!!
|
Thanks for the tute. Real cute idea. Thanks for sharing.
|
Thanks for the Tute!!!!
