Izy, thank you so much for the tute. It is easy to follow and I am glad you showed other ways to arrange the blocks. It will be a while before I can try it, as my to do list (finish what's started) is long, but it will be the first after I get all my other sewing done (not just quilts). :-) :-) :-)

I couldn't figure in how your quilt was a D9P...it sure didn't look like any I had ever seen. I just couldn't figure it out. Thanks so much for this tute. Now I "get it". I'm not a big fan of HST as they are my nemesis, but I'm glad this complex quilt is easier to make than it looks...

Melissa...I know what you mean about HST...I think everyone can have a hard time with them...one thing about this is you do have some room for error....when you draw the diagonal seam allowances, if you take a smaller seam allowance at this stage, say 3/16th's, after you have made the HST you will have a little extra to square up...check out my pictures you will see that is what I have actually measured at is .5cm (my ruler is metric!!) :D

K....do I sound like I know alot...only cause I read so much info on here lol!!

It stands for Half square triangle.. two triangles when sewn together form a square, then there is QST, which stands for quarter square triangles..4 triangles forming a square when sewn together.. :D
