ive always wanted to make a twisted log cabon and this pattern looks like it might work for me thanks for posting it

Wow! I love it, but not sure how many I would get done.

Thank you for the tutorial. It is really nice and creative, but i was wondering does the size of the first square have to do with the width of the strips used or anything (what i am trying to ask if they are related?), and how big is the block that you made? and last do u stop adding just when you like the size of the block?
Sorry too many questions, but i would love to try it. |
Love it

"ok, so you cut the piece and then sew it on? I can't help but think, I could save time by sewing it on and them cutting it to match. Why can't I sew it on first?"
You can! |

Sorry too many questions, but i would love to try it. My block turned out to be 12 inches. Any yes, you just stop when you think you are done. And kids kept saying, "Make it bigger," so I stopped when I ran out of fabric, good thing I didn't have much! |
That is beautiful. I've added this to my (Will Make List). Thanks for sharing.

I have this book/pattern, but I'm not much of a paper piecer. I'm looking forward to trying your method. I think if I just follow it step by step, I can make it work. Thank you for the tutorial!!!!
Great Job to those that did it and posted their pictures!!! |

Thank you

interesting block

I was wondering if you doubled the strip width, if you could use the cut off section to either sew on the opposite side or a different block so you used the "waste" fabric. (I know it is an old thread so an old tutorial, but still good info)
