I have been using a free CAD program for designing my patterns but it has no fabric calulations, or a way to design with fabrics. It was easy to learn and for free it has helped me a lot to use up my current cloth pieces and design tops using my current materials, but it is probably a lot slower the a EQ program. Have just discovered the EQ programs but have a hard time justifying the cost of the newer programs ($189). An EQ5 can be had for about $50 but I have a V7 computer and a lot of programs that list 2000, XP only do not run on 7. Does anyone have EQ5 on a 7 computer??

Susabella29 11-10-2011 04:51 AM

I'll sign wherever you want. I have had mine for so long and never used it because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do.

ljordan1029 11-10-2011 05:53 AM

Would love to join the EQ tutorial. Don't have one as of yet, but really thinking about buying one. Enjoyed the first lessons, and will be watching for more. Where do I sign up to be added to the list of students?

My prayers have been answered! You are a "peach" to be doing this for us. Thanks so very, very much.
I'm sure this will save tons of time for most of us to have a great teacher lead us through the forest.

Karen EQ5 is the one I use and I have had it for about 5 years. I love my EQ5! I have all 3 versions now but I still like my EQ5 best. It is the simplest one and I like simple. I will be showing EQ5 and the other versions. So you should be able to follow along.

This is the link to the first class with Rhonda for the EQ class. You can just follow along. It isn't to late to sign up, since it will be on the board under tutorials. On Monday Nov. 14 she'll have the second class. But I would suggest starting with class 1. You can bookmark and do it at any time. I'm sure Rhonda is really busy since she's doing this class, a monthly swap and a weekly block. So I hope this helps all of you who are inquiring about the class. I have EQ7, and I started last week with her class and learned a lot so far.

You forgot the Quilt Contests too! LOL I just realized I am hosting 4 things when we made the move and I saw them all in my subscribed list! I love it! I was getting bored without the Sampler to do so I started a second one and now I am doing the classes. I get bored easily! LOL

klgreene 11-11-2011 06:30 PM

You don't have time to be bored. And what quilt contest. Not that I'm doing that, just don't want to miss whatever you are doing.

We'll go as far as I can. I'm not sure how much I can offer. I just got EQ7 and haven't really played with any of the new features. but what I don't know we'll learn together.

I won't be getting my EQ7 until Christmas. It is sitting in a box taunting me... but I'm super excited that there will be tutorials here waiting for me to re-read and catch up on as soon as I open the box.
