Great tutorial. Very clear and easy to follow. Too bad I didn't know about this method when I made my first quilt 25 years ago. I made a full size log-cabin using this quilt process found in a magazine, but the joining was not very professional. The quilt is still in use though. I think I will try it again with your process.

Can I please say a HUGE thank you. I am a very new sewer/quilter. The very first /okay and second quilt I've made are quilt as you go crazy quilts. I for the life of me could not figure out the directions for the sashing in the back they made no sense to me. For 3 months both quilts have sat in the corner of my room with me being frustrated. I had to move on to a rag quilt for my husband.

But now, thanks to you,... I can finish these quilts. With no kidding and no exaggeration... you have saved me from feeling like a failure because I couldn't understand the process.

If you can find an inch wide ready made cotton binding, you could use that instead of making your own - makes it even simpler! :D

Great tute! Thanks for sharing your talent.I do have one question....I'm sure it's just me, missing what's in front of my face! Where you press the joining strips to the back, then stitch in the ditch....I'm not sure where the ditch is? What am I missing? Thanks so much.
