thank you everyone. These are just things I have done over the years. It is just the first time I have put them into a quilt. I was just thinking about where I got the inspiration for the blue flower. It came from a picture I saw in my very first quilt book 30 yrs ago. I loved the pictue but couldn't do it the way they did it so I drew my own version. I have been doodling that flower ever since. It is a great way to stretch my fingers when my hand gets tired of sewing. I sit and draw flowers for fun.

This is a flower I cut out of denim. I didn't sew it I just cut out the petals and glued them to my shelf. I left the edges raw. The leaves are also denim from some green jeans I found at a yard sale.

Rhonda, will you stop creating, LOL I'm still working on the sampler. These are so cute. Again, to be added to my "TO DO" list. Good thing I am making small things after I finish the sample cover. I'll never catch up to you! But thanks. I need all this!!!!

Thanks Katie I don't know how much more I have to contribute. I do have a strip work tutorial in mind to do sometime soon. I expect the well will run dry one of these days and I will have shared all there is to share! LOL

Best tute I've seen on this type of applique'. Simple, easy to follow ---and you sewed the pieces on by machine. I hate to hand-stitch, so I've only done the raw edge applique' stitching. LOVE it. Thanks a whole bunch!!!!

Some would say backing each piece and turning it right side out is a waste of time but it allows you to sew it on by machine without having to mess with the edges. so I much prefer to do things that will avoid any needleturn! It is not my favorite thing to do.
