Default How I made a woven textile box

Cut cca. 2,5 cm semi hard batting strips

Cut stripes of different fabric cca. 6 cm .

Iron a paper-glue strips to the edge of the strip

    I prepare the strip

    I wove the bottom...

    ...and the sides

    Before completion cut the top

Finally ending the top with a binding.
Remark: You may make extra box with (wide)satin stripes too.

Looks like a very cool technique. If you did it flat instead of a box, I think it would make a super envelope for a nook, ereader, Ipad etc. Thanks for sharing!

question please..I realize you are not in the USA, but was wondering, if instead of using the hard batting, you could use something like Timtex or fast2fuse? They are the stiff interfacing used to make tote bags/purses!
