I love string quilts,they are all pretty,either new or "aged".After making the first one,found them to be very heavy.There are lots of seams adding to bulk & weight.Sent mine to LAQ.....& asked for the lightest amount of quilting. Even so,they feel better when I finish them with backing only,no batting& they are still heavy.JMO
