JUST for REFERENCE, if you are considering making these [or one]---the completed balls in the photos would fit comfortably in your hand; the pattern pieces i used were small, as in the first few photos.

However, the photos showing the pink checkered fabric that i sewed together as an example are huge & would make a ball that is HUGE [probably 3 times their size]

never heard them referred to as clutch balls, but it makes sense

this one is a bit different. if you look closely, you can see the child's clothing through the spaces between the pieces..........
