    I have lots of trouble with my vision and if I can see the first and last letters of a word, I can usually read it without any problems. I think we have read the words so many times in our lives that our brains have just memorized them without realizing it.

    I just used that with a group of learning disabled middle school students. THey read that faster than regular material....go figure

    no problem here....maybe because we are quilters and see what can be rather than just what is in front of us.

    Easy-peasy, especially after teaching grades 1 & 2 for 31 years!!!! I would like to see the actual research results on this that would substantiate the claim of Alzheimer's being a long way off. Hmmmm...maybe I'll go check Snopes. Interesting subject. Thanks for sharing.

    Of course I can read this, this is how I spell, lol. I don't believe only 55 people out of 100 can read this. Just saying.
