Default Do you "Do the Math" or "Look it up in a chart or table"?

When you want/need to do something that involves math -

    Are you a

    Do the Math Person

    or a

Look it up in a Chart or Table Person?

I tend to be a "Do the Math Person" - because it is (usually) easier for me. I definitely misplace charts and tables - I also tend to misplace my calculators, too - but I have several of them laying around.

I think being able to do basic arithmetic/math is a handy skill to have for quilt-making.

I call my daughter and have her do the math for me. Much more accurate and quicker than me trying to do it.

i'm a math major but never got a 100% on a final exam due to silly/simple errors. since it is so easy to use the computer, i rely on it for accuracy

I do the math or use my calculator. If you misplace it you can always bring one up on-line and bookmark it!

I do the math because as others have mentioned, it's a good mental exercise. Gotta use those brain cells!
