Default Getting my Christmas presents tonight!

After work, I'm heading to my area small dog rescue. They've already approved me, just been waiting for the right dogs to get cleared.

Sammy, a Tibetan Spaniel who is 7 years old, and Max, a Cavalier Spaniel who is 8 years old, are coming home! They are cat safe, friendly, potty trained and over all good dogs. Both are quite happy snoozing during the day, but liking having fun at night. Perfect for me!

They are also bringing along Natalie, who is an 11 year old Havanese cross. She just likes to snooze away every second, but well, I can't leave behind their foster sister who they make sure doesn't get picked on. Nattie's diabetic, but well controlled.

It's been 18 long months without a dog around, I'm looking forward to them again!

Sounds like a good christmas to me. I love dogs but can't have them in the house due to allergies so I look and listen to you dog lovers out there!

i went "dogless" for about two years. sure glad i changed that. took that long to find the right one.
you are wonderful to adopt these pups. they deserve a good home and sounds like they have found it.

I'm entirely too girly and love my little foo-foo fluffy type dogs. But I refuse to pay that kind of money for any animal, I really, really, really dislike puppies and their chewing of everything, and the little ones are always winding up in the shelters here because people get tired of their fancy named mutt from the store. I realised with the loss of my last duo that I not only really disliked puppies, I wasn't so fond of the younger adults always either that were bouncy type. I liked middle aged pups who were happy to snooze away when I am out and willing to be a bud when I'm home.

Took me 14 months to decide I wanted a dog or dogs again, then just waiting until the right dog came up. I've met Nattie before, but she wasn't quite right, almost right but something wasn't there. Yeah, met her with the boys again, and she's just perfect now. Plus, she's getting slower, so the foster home has younger dogs who take her stuff or bug her, so she certainly now needs a home where she can have her cushion and toys and just sleep.

Sammy and Max are both just goofy little guys, I love 'em.

Thank you so much for choosing older rescue dogs. I can't imagine a better Christmas gift.

Good for you. I want a Cav but, they are scarce around here. I will settle for most any little dog that I think will go with our hyper Chihuahua.

I'm so happy for you and the Furries! We are a rescue/shelter only family and that will never change. We foster for our local shelter and get our fill of the puppy stage. Our current dog pack includes a Shepherd/ Akita mix who came to us as 1-2 yo, a Shepherd/Malinois mix who was 4 yo and heart worm positive and a 14 yo Pomeranian who is toothless and has a heart murmur requiring medication daily. I am constantly looking for another senior Pommie to add to our pack; maybe a sweet lil ole lady friend for our old guy?

Merry Christmas to 3 very lucky dogs!!! And bless you for opening your home and heart to them!!!

Not all dogs cause allergies. We have had our cockapoo for 7 years with no problems for our granddaughter (of whom we've had custody 9+ years) and who has been taking allergy shots forever!
