Thank you, I used a homemade white cake batter. I bake it off and put the layers in the freezer. It's easier to get them out of the pans and onto the cake plate without breaking them.

Congrats on a beautiful cake! I came out of garment sewing retirement for my granddaughter. She wanted me to make her wedding dress. She loved it and looked beautiful and for once I am grateful I have only 1 granddaughter and 9 grandsons!

That is such a nice memory for her and her husband. I think those special touches can really make the day! I have always wanted to learn the art of cake decorating but feared I would consume all ingredients before it was done.

I learned the art of cake decorating when my mother gave me my fist copy of a Wilton cake decorating book. I was impressed with the idea and started making birthday and shower cakes. Then people wanted me to make their special cakes. I am self taught with lots of "learning experiences along the way" It launched a 30 year career as a home based business. And your your right about comsuming the ingredients. You have to level these cakes and I ate what I cut off. lol It's never too late to do anything. Try it out, you get better at it as you go.

I made this same graddaughter her prom gown last year. I have 3 more granddaughters to make gowns for. And with the 3 grandsons I will have six wedding cakes to make unless I can convince some of them to stay single. ha ha.
