Congratulations on your new baby. I'm hoping you decide on a name for him, I'm not fond of nick-names or things like spunky, cuddles, cutie, etc. I bet you will figure out what is appropriate for him in no time!

We adopted a black cat around Halloween so I named him Boo Boo, call him Boo for short.

I had a cat called Teddy (cuddly like a teddy bear) and his brother Geoffrey (after the poem by Christopher Smart : ". i will consider my cat Geoffrey, for he is the servant of the living God..." It's very long but amazing, and ends "for he can creep").
A friend had a kitten called Harley, named for his loud purr.

Hope you will let us know what you decide!

If he's a tough little customer, I'd call him Roscoe. We have two at the moment--Chester, my avatar, and The Flash--who happens to be all black with a few white hairs on his chest and one white whisker.

Now The Flash isn't quite a 'quick' as his name suggests, seeing that he weighs in at close to 20 pounds and his favourite pastimes are eating and sleeping. Both my boys are real cuddlers and when their brother Mortimer was still with us, my legs would often be totally fur covered in winter.

Please show us a picture of your little guy.

Licorice? Our black cats were Twidgett (she was fidgety) and the boy was Herman (he was slow to learn, sort of like the cartoon character named Herman). You'll figure it out with the personality you see emerging. I think Herman had 5 or so names before we settled on Herman.

My fur ball didn't get a name for several weeks. I had trouble choosing one. He was 7 weeks. I also had his sister who got into something she shouldn't have at 8 months and had to put her down. He was very energetic and would not stop zipping thru the house like a blur. While I was on the phone with my daughter telling her he was zipping thru the house ......he became Zipper. Wait a bit. See what personality he has. A name will come.
