    My DS/DDIL have three children--5, 2, and 1. They live in a split level house and that is the way they taught all three to go down the stairs. They said they thought that would be safer than trying to teach them to walk down the stairs. My first thought was why not just have them sit down and bounce down each step because they had the diaper padding. But I kept my mouth shut.
