Lucy always goes on vacation with me. She would be so lonely if she would be left at home for two weeks. And WHAT would I do in the evening while DH watches baseball or some other sports event? Lucy keeps me company!

Smiles to all....Thanks for the shoulder! Oh, I'm not really a hand anythinger. LOL
My girlfriend and I take 6 to 11 day bus tours several times a year. We always spend one day at a gambling casino which I hate. Waste of time but the majority rules. Now if they'd only invent a travel bus with enuf room and hookups for a machine, I'd be in seventh heaven.

We went on vacation to a beach condo and I told my DH I wanted to take my machine. He couldn't believe me but to me vacation means relax and enjoy the non-routine, he disagreed and I ended up not taking the sewing machine to not create tension between us. I cannot say I didn't enjoy the vacation but I really missed to do what I love. Go for it if you can!

Maybe you'll win enough to afford that big ol' new machine you want... ;)

Sounds completely understandable to me. Maybe there will be some nice fabric/quilting shops around to check out too.

I am going to spend a few weeks with my sister while she recovers from surgery. While she sews and quilts, she doesn't own an embroidery machine, so I am taking mine. We will make a nine patch quilt for another sis, with each center block embroidered with different flowers.

It looks like you are not alone. We took a driving trip from SD to Washington, DC in September. I didn't take my machine but I did get the binding on 2 quilts so I didn't have total withdrawl. Enjoy your trip, you will be so ready to come home and sew up a storm!

I understand I am currently on vacation at the beach with 2 sewing machines, spent time shopping, playing etc but still found time to quilt and make some gifts for Christmas :)
