Default I say it's for the Grandkids....but it's really for me......

Walmart advertised a tablet for $69.00 this week. My 7yo DGD asked for a tablet, but if I bought one, then I'd have to buy 3 more so the others grands wouldn't fight over the one.

BUT...... I decided to buy just one anyway.....and the deal is...it stays at my house, they can play games and watch movies when they come for a visit....but....if there's ANY fighting over it.....it disappears and they can't have it the rest of their visit. The extended warranty was a whopping $28, so I passed on that 'deal'. If it gets broken, it's a gonner.

When the grands aren't visiting.... I will be using it to stream Chromecast, so I can watch more channels and movies on the TV, when I'm quilting in my sewing room happy place!

Merry Christmas to me ..... too!!!

If you want an extended warranty go to squaretrade.com. I have a 30% off code I can send you. Then you get an inexpensive warranty that you can add accidental damage to and it's tied to the cost of the tablet, so it's not so overpriced like the walmart plans. They're very good about claims too. I found that out after I accidentally ran over my son's nintendo with the car.

Fantastic idea!! Most of the time if they don't work after just a short time, the store will take it back and exchange it.

I signed up for bradsdeals.com to send emails on the best deals for everything. I remember seeing a nice tablet not long ago for $30. I didn't need one and found out later the same tablet was at Wamart for $149. My DD was able to use the price matching to get the tablet for $30. Sign up for bradsdeals. You never know what will be on sale.

My DD who works in IT (computers) says the $69 tablet at Walmart does not do much. You would be better off with the $99 one. We looked at them today and I was interested in the $69 one, too. I guess it doesn't have much storage capacity, etc. Let me know how yours works as I am still interested in getting one. Thanks.

Great idea!! Only wish my DGKs could come over like in past. I actually had a spare bedroom make into a playroom for them, really 2 diff. rooms. They, 5 of them, live in China now. My DS adopted 2 girls that are sisters, his 2nd cousins actually. I do love them but not as bonded as with my DGs… It is TOO quite here at this ole house. And Christmas time has lost its luster!! We do Skype but still not same as lots of hugs & kisses. I just pray they will come back to Texas!!! But they are growing way tooooo fast. My avatar is already 3 yrs old.
