    Default My new baby........a serger

My husband has been after me about one of these for months. I always told him I didn't need one. My current machine has an overcast stitch. So I started looking around and found that this one had good reviews and was an excellent starter serger.
I also am trying my hand at beadwork. I got a bead loom too under the tree along with a few thousand beads to practice with...lol Most of my gifts I found out were still in the postal system somewhere.

My very handsome biker husband has a beard halfway to his belly button. I braid it when he goes outside to do chores as to not get it caught in anything with moving parts. When we go out for date night or just into town for errands I put
silver dwarven beads in it. And he likes Native American beadwork so I am going to make him some bead sleeves for his beard too. He is my inspiration for trying out this new endeavor.

A bead sleeve is generally placed on dreadlocks but we are adapting them to his beard.

Here is my new baby............Brother Lock 1034D

Enjoy your new serger! I had not used mine in years, and got it out and going before Christmas. I made some holiday pillow cases and it was so easy.

I have been having fun with my new/used serger - I love making pillow cases with my left over scraps.

Very nice machine. So far I haven't needed one. I just make quilts.

Hope you love your new serger as much as I love my old one! Did you see the thread in this section on fabric gift bags? That would be a good project to get some practice in on your new baby! Enjoy!

No I haven't I guess I better go peek. I am waiting on two serger books to arrive. So I can study up on techniques and practice on a few patterns. It is going to come in handy when I make the Grand girls dresses.
