I learn not to mail any package with out DC. mailed a package of clothing to DD years ago and didnot do it and the PO would not do a thing about tracing it because I didnt Put DC on it
I was under the impression that they do not do any tracing at all.

DC - do you mean delivery confirmation? - is not going to help you get a package delivered. And it's not going to help you if the package is NOT delivered, either. The only thing that will help you in case the package is lost or mis-delivered is if you had it insured.

Sadly, I'm afraid this changing the rules game is now the "new normal". The internet makes it so easy to just modify to their heart's content, and it's not just the Post Office either. You have to check and double check the rules every time you do anything on the internet. It's no wonder the Postal employees are always so grouchy. Oh and don't get me started on the ever-changing tax codes!

Yes...you must have it insured if you want a guarantee of replacement.

Sounds like you got a real winner for a post mistress! I hope for your sake she's only a temporary appointment or she gets a little smarter. At least you proved her wrong & knocked her down a notch from her 'know-it-all' attitude. It's always amazed me at some of the people who advance to higher positions, although, I'm sure other businesses have the same problem. Some of my friends from UPS tell me they see the same thing there. Never be afraid to report the inept to their superiors. Maybe she's where she is, because others have NOT reported her. Good Luck & don't give up!

I have started a thread about the FRE situation and solution. If you give me the name of the PO and the zip code, my clerk and PO Postmaster have said they will call and make this right. My PO wants us to use the PO, and will help those who are having trouble. If you even have a NAME of the mean one, please pm me and that will be passed along as well.

The head of this PO was walking around the lobby and I asked her if they had any of the padded flat rate envelopes and she looks at me like I have 2 heads and says"I've never heard of those..." How can they be this ignorant of what has been advertised for a couple months???
And if they want us to use the padded envelopes, why should we have to ORDER them?s Since they are FREE, why not have them readily available for use?
8-) My in-laws sent me a text to today to let me know that our Christmas card arrived today. I mailed it around the middle of December. Is that slow or what?
