    Default pentagon, hexagon, octagon -

    why not trigon and quadagon?

We have triangle and quadrangle -

Why not pentangle, hexangle, and octangle?

Along those lines, we have triplets, so why not doublets?

The only quilt I ever made was a hexagon. Half of what you listed I don't know what they are
    trigon
    quadagon
    quadrangle

The first two words aren't even in Firefox's spelling dictionary.

Pentangle is another word for Pentagram...a 5 sided star.
Trigon is another word for triangle.
Quadrangle is a word that describes a shape having 4 sides...a square is a quadrangle
Quadagon...also another word for a shape having 4 sides.

    Hope this helps!

Oh bearisgray, you come up with some of the most interesting thoughts and such. But I know the 'why not' answer. Time tested, tried and true: Because it's always been that way".
