    on their shoes they had metal pieces that looked like spurs but they had round balls on the back are these spurs and why would they wear them with a dress uniform?

    I don't know but I thought Prince Phillip had them on his shoes too.

    Prince Harry is a Captain in the Household Cavalry. This is the Regiment you see on the horses wearing red tunics with white plumes in their helmets(Life Guards) or blue tunics with red plumes in their helmets(Blues and Royals) He was wearing spurs. Prince William was wearing the uniform of Colonel of the Irish Guards(Scarlet tunics, large Bearskin hats!) they display the shamrock on the collar! My youngest son has been in the Life Guards for 22yrs. He is abroad at the moment.
