A friend of mine posted this on Facebook. Thought the board members might be interested.

There's a site called spokeo.com that's a new online USA phone book with your personal info: everything from pics you've posted on FB or web, your credit score, home value and pix, income, age, children, etc. Remove yourself by searching for your name, copy the URL of your page, then go to the bottom right corner of the page, click the Privacy button to remove yourself.

I checked it out and found myself - really scary. Not all the info wascorrect but I didn't like the idea of even being on this list so I removed my profile. It only takes a few clicks to get off the list!

According to snopes.com, it is hardly worth the effort because there are so many sites that already do this - post your info on the web. I saw this notice about three months ago and that's when I looked it up.

Mine is not accurate either - it said I live in a below average neighborhood but had my house valued at 1Mil - LOL! That's the kind of below average neighborhood I want to live in!

found my DH, wrong address, couldn't find myself. I am not going to worry about it too much.
Not willing to give them any money to see the extra info, it's probably wrong as well.

They have a great pic of my Barn, the house square footage & home value is for the barn. LOL If it were that big I would definitely have a shop and a long arm. Humm. Instead of building a cabin I could just finish out one end of the barn..... DH is not even listed...

I'm laughing at this because they only had 2 things correct about me. Who my DH is and where we live. It said I don't have children and that my MIL lives with us (hmmm has h--l frozen over)? I wish we had the income stated because then I'd have more money for fabric. LOL!! I'm gonna look up my whole family.

I checked mine out a while back. There is a lot of incorrect info on it also. I thought it was amusing and left it. There's hundreds of other sites like this out there.

I just searched and I don't exist !!! totally nowhere. I've only lived in the same place for almost 30 years so "I think therefore I am" -- whichever philosopher said that
