I have read where others buy the blades for rotary cutters from Harbor Freight. Our store is too large for me to walk it, so I sent my DH for them. He couldn't find them or rather he found the "bumpy" ones. Isn't there another name that Harbor Freight uses? We're going to Beaumont today. There is a coupon for a free item from HF, so I wanted DH to look again. Oh, I'm also going by Joann's. When I told DH about the coupon, then mentioned Joann's, he started laughing and said he knew where I was heading. Well, of course!

Ask a clerk. I am not sure they would recognize them as rotary cutter blades, but they do know what the carpet cutters and blades are for. Use the correct name and the clerk can lead you to them.

I happened upon a Harbor Freight last week and went in and asked about carpet cutter blades....the woman at the cash register didn't have a clue...she directed me to some electrical gadget that cuts carpets..or something. I knew that my rotary cutter wasn't electric ....so the blades were probably not either.

I found them on my own.

They are : "Replacement Carpet Cutter Blades", Item # 97642. they came 2 to a package for $1.49,plus tax. I haven't opened them yet. Keep in mind they are for the smaller of the rotary cutters..don't know numbers, but I do know they won't fit in my larger cutter.

thanks for all the responses. I've copied the info so DH should be able to find them. I have 3 different sizes of rotary cutters; so, blades should fit one of them, lol. This group is the best for answering questions.

In both stores I go to they are in the first row of shelving just next to the registers. Mine happen to be 2 to 3 rows from the right of the store. From the front of the store walk up the isles and at the end of that isle they are up to the right. Sometimes they are hard to find just keep looking if the staff have no idea what you are talking about. The handles of the carpet cutting blades are yellow and the package of blades are yellow with a red stripe.

Here is a pick of the handle to help you find it better.

I just bought 4 packages yesterday. I put a new one in my rotary cutter and am about to give it a shot. Here's hoping I don't have any issues with it.
