I have a cordless mouse and love it. The newer ones don't have a ball. Let us know how it works out.

I have a laser mouse, and it's great. I wouldn't go back to a mouse with the roller-ball.... Sorry your mouse is giving you troubles!

There are little rollers on the inside of the mouse that get gunked up. If you take a Qtip soaked in alcohol and clean those rollers it should fix the problem. I used to have to do this to the mouse controllers at work. Everyone would remember to clean the ball but not the rollers. And if it doesn't work.. there is always the new mouse waiting for you at the WM. :)

Nothing like washing mouse balls, is there??! LOL Yes, I suggest the laser ones, too. Have had this one for 4 yrs and haven't had ANY problems.

In the meantime...take the ball out and look at the little rollers -- they should be shiney. If you see a line of black on the rollers, take a q-tip with alcohol and wash them off. Good luck!

Yep, the little rollers inside wreak more havoc than the ball being a little dirty :D:D:D

I agree with the rest, you may just need more cleaning.

Incidentally, you can purchase just the ball, but you would probably have to do it online or at a specialty electronics store.

It's probably cheaper just to get a new mouse. :)

ROFL Amandasgramma - so funny. I agree, the laser would be the way to go. No more rolly balls for me either.
