I've refinished and reupolstered furniture for years. The wood is probably mahogany. Stripped and refinished and reupolstered that set would sell for an EASY $ 1000. Place it in a consignment shop or the multi vender Antique locales and walk away. On-line is usless for this type of thing.

I'm with you. The furniture looks to be about 1870 or so and probably is mahogany. The basic structure of the chair and loveseat look okay. Upholstering them myself wouldn't cost that much. A good cleaning would make the wood gorgeous. All in all, trading a $200 sewing machine would be a win-win in my book.

I can see these redone, refinished & reupholstered in a beautiful tapestry fabric, for an attorney's office waiting room, or a home office, or den or "man cave" (only in leather). I think they are at least 1920s dated. Wish I still did that work.
