Default Trivia Question For The Day

Elvis Presley's double sided hit Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel was #1 on the charts for 11 weeks in 1956. This longevity record was broken in 1992 when a Whitney Houston song, written by Dolly Parton, stayed at #1 for 14 weeks. What's the song title?

Timing was just right. One summer when neighbors were having a roof put on, the roofer had his radio on really loud & I swear Whitney Houston singing that was the only song I heard. That fall I had a heated discussion with someone that Dolly Parton had not recorded it--that Whitney was the 1st. I think Dolly wrote that for her husband and she did record it.

Dolly sang it to Bert Reynolds in "Best Little Whore House in Texas."

I'd forgotten that. It was a fun, light-hearted movie.

Dolly wrote and sang the song to Porter Wagner when she left the show, Many years ago. Now I'm telling my age.
