Currently employed as a creative director hairdresser( for the past seventeen years) before that taught Cosmetology for twenty years! Retired from the teaching end, and went directly into doing what I love! DH has been retired for the past few years, so pretty soon, he will go back to work, and I can retire and quilt! Just got my long arm, and am doing great with it! If anyone here needs a quilt quilted, let me know!

We had our own business in sales so I worked for my DH and raised the 4 boys. This left me a lot of flex time for volunteer work. Since we had our own swimming pool (16' x 50') and our area was closing its pools do to desegregation, I taught swimming for the Red Cross for 45 years.

Started with the kids, then life saving, CPR, Instructors, physically and mentally challenged and worked the first aid stations with the EMTs for the community. We were also CB radio operators during hurricanes and other disasters when phones were out so hospitals and shelters could have contact with each other.

Stay at home Mom was first job.
Secretary to high school guidance counselor for 8 years.
Owner of commercial embroidery and engraving shop in our home for the past 16 years - would like to cut back on this and find more time for quilting, but probably will never completely retire.

Hmmm...I've had a varied career path to say the least but just noting the ones that were the longest: Admissions Clerk for a psych hospital, Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor, Bookkeeper/Employee Relations Manager and am currently disabled/retired but do some crafting/sewing for cash and catering for fun upon occasion.
