Went to school for Business and Interior Design...when I graduated from college, I worked in a furniture store for 2 months and hated it and quit.

Since then I have mostly worked retail...managed a craft department in a store, managed a basket/wicker furniture, and stretched fabric store with stitching and trapunto done on the fabrics....worked in a needlework store, then in a quilt store, then bought a quilt store, then had 2 kids, moved, and opened another quilt shop with a partner...all fun jobs...but also a lot of work.

Then my husband passed away and I had to get a "real" job...and for 6 years have worked in healthcare/related jobs...first in the cafeteria at hospital, then on surgical services floor as administrative assistant, and now as patient service representative at large clinic.

I am a Jack-of-all trades! I was a teacher, a Salvation Army Officer. I raised a family of 7 (4 of my own and 3 of my brother-in-laws). I retired a few years ago from the newspaper industry where I worked for 20 years. I began as a reporter and ended up managing the local weekly. But, my real love is quilting, carving leather, knitting, crocheting and upholstery (the later of which I ran a business from my basement for a few years while raising my children. I'm still doing most of it when the need arises.

Teacher assistant working with special needs students for the past 18 years. Previously did daycare in my home while my 5 children were growing up. Was also very blessed to be able to work with a good friend in her Quilt shop until it closed a few years ago. Really miss it.
