I need to find a source for colored 'fine' embroidery thread. No only do I use it for the embroidery projects, but also for stippling. I have used cotton, but it doesn't have the sheen needed. Does anyone know where to buy this?? .... without costing an arm and a leg, of course!

60 wt machine embroidery thread is known as bobbin thread and Thread Delight makes a line of it. I bought a set of 20 in assorted colors last year, works great, but I forget where I got it. Sorry. Goggle Thread Delight, you'll probably find several sources.

you can try www.sewtrue.com they carry a wide variety of thread including Gutterman embroidery threads and the prices are good ($3.50 for an 1100yd spool of Gutterman cotton thread in tons of colors) They do tend to cater to tailoring with their other notions and fabrics, but their thread prices can't be beat.
