Hi! I've been browsing your wonderful message board for the past few days, so I thought I may as well register and benefit even more from you talented people!

I've been sewing for years, also do cross-stitch and embroidery among other things. My "main" craft would be scrapbooking, but quilting runs a close second. Or sometimes first, its according what month it is, LOL.

I've only made a few quilts in my life, and NEVER a "full size" one. The biggest I've made is a twin size, machine top, hand quilted. I've done several baby quilts, and some throws.

I haven't worked on any in a while, and for some reason, I'm just getting back into it. It seems to come in "waves" for me.

Also, I'm laid up right now, I just got back from Myrtle Beach and broke my toe and ripped off my entire big toenail while there, so I thought I would work on some quilting while I'm grounded.

I've got a plan in mind for a quilt, that I guess you would call an "art" quilt. Now, I believe all quilts are works of art, but in this context I mean I am wanting to make a wall hanging for my husband of a motorcyle theme.

I am going to post it on the main board in a little while to get some ideass.

I use my Cricut Expression in my quiliting, I was just wondering if anyone else on here has one/uses one? For those who don't know, it's a machine made for crafts and cuts images from paper, fabric, stencil material, etc. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I also have a software program for it, that when hooked to the Cricut, I can cut ANY image I can get on my computer. ANY image, I once cut my nephew's face from fabric for my aunt to quilt. She hasnt' finished it yet, I can't wait to see when she's done. If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting one.

Shew, sorry I wrote a book! LOl! Everyone always tells me I talk too much, so I'll be quiet now......LOL!

Hi and GF you must be from the south. We are talkers, down here! I know you'll enjoy these gals, they are so encouraging and so knowledgeable, you won't have to seek information anywhere else. Welcome.

    Blessings,
Ruth (and hi is more than one word, isn't it?)

Hi and welcome from Georgia! I used to do a lot of different crafts, too. Tried scrapbooking for a while, but it wasn't for me. I was an avid crocheter for years and years, but I've given it all up for quilting now. I've had my eye on several different cutting systems including the cricut, but haven't committed to one yet. I guess I will continue using the rotary method as long as my hands are healthy enough. You will love being a member of the forum --- but fair warning --- it is very addictive! lol
