Hello, Quilters!
Hi, everyone! After years of wanting to quilt but never finding the time, energy, patience, etc., I've finally taken the plunge. Took a brief class yesterday to introduce the concepts and I am already hooked
My stretch goal is to eventually create an original quilt for my three children and their spouses. Perhaps one for each grandchild some day? My short-term goal is to create a set of quilted placemats for my table. I have actually cut the tops and bottoms (they will be reversible) and will learn some machine quilting techniques next week at my second class. That's about as far as I've gotten!
I'm in the Savannah, Georgia, area and would love to hear from any and all of you about your favorite projects, advice, tips and tricks, or just see beautiful and inspiring quilt photos.

Wow! It sounds like you are very enthusiastic. Have fun. If you like batiks, try The Missouri Star Quilt company. They have some beautiful fabric and only $5 for shipping.
Please be sure to show us some pictures of your placemats.

Wow, that's so exciting to begin a hobby that I'm sure you will love. You've come to the right place. I've been quilting for years and am so inspired by the QB. And even if I don't plan to make all of the projects I see here, I marvel at the creativity of the folks. Always something new! Enjoy!

Welcome from Central Florida! I love your enthusiasm! :-) Best of luck with your new hobby! Enjoy the process... it's not a race! LOL! That's what I tell the ladies who ask me to teach them. I'm looking forward to seeing your work!
