My name is Vanessa, and I'm from Roswell, NM (UFO place of the country). I started enjoying quilting when I was very young. My great-grandmother started teaching me when I was 5 years old. She passed away shortly after the first five lessons, or so, but I have still hung on to the lessons she taught me 28 years ago. My maternal grandmother, who is still living, helped me with my first quilt after I had my daughter, Brenna. By this time, I had a son already. I was super busy due to his heart conditions so I was not able to do quilting until my daughter's birth.
I have a passion to pass on quilting to both of my children, if they should want to learn, so that they may carry on with my family's traditions.
My current project, which I will be starting soon, is a double irish chain made from their baby blankets and some of their baby clothes. One quilt for each of my children.

The quilts you are making for your children sound like treasures.
