    Red face Lynaldine from Quebec!

    Hi everyone,

I wanted to register myself to this forum in order to learn how to quilt, I saw some tutorials on your forum and you seems all very active quilters so it was very tempting =)
found some beautiful pictures on Pinterest and I dream to be able to quilt a blanket (cottage style with gingham fabrics)
don't know really where to start ?! if you have some advises, don't hesitate to share them to me
I do sewing, knitting, crocheting already ,quilt is my new hobby now ! yeah!!

thanks and happy quilting to you

    Hello from Arizona.

Go to a local quilt store and take the beginner class! I watched quilting programs on tv when I didn't have a LQS.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Start small with a table runner or similar. Watch the video tutorials by Jenny Doan from the Missouri Star Quilt co. for some ideas.

Welcome from Tennessee. The big difference between garment sewing and quilting is seam allowance. Only 1/4 in seam in quilting. Therefore cutting and accurate seams make the process so much easier. Start with a simple pattern to get you feel and go from there. You will love it
