New from Colorado

Hello, My name is Coco and I'm from Southern Colorado. I consider myself a beginner because I am trying to get motivated to doing something positive again. In 1999 & 2000 I started to learn to quilt and was with a yahoo group called Quiltswappers. I met so many wonderful quilters and had a tremendous amount of fun with all of them. As time went by life got in the way and I focused on other things. In 2006 my childhood best friend became terminally ill with lung cancer. She has 2 adult children who live out of state and I have no children so I let her move in with me so she wouldn't be alone. She passed away Jan. 9th of this year and I have been grieving since. I need to try to get focused on something positive so I thought now with so much time on my hands I should learn to quilt again. Fortunately I did save my cutting mat and fabric cutter but not much else. This is the first Christmas in my life that I am not looking forward to. I don't know if this is allowed but I was wondering for those that send out cards each year if you might include me? I could sure use a little motivation and I remember how wonderful all the quilters were when I became a member of Quiltswappers years ago. And last I have a fur baby chihuahua named Isabella who was given to me for company in August and she never leaves my side. I'm sure she will soon become a critic of my quilts. Thanks so much for listening to me and I look forward to lots of new friends. Sincerely, Coco Vigil

Hello Coco and welcome from Argentina!!! :D:D:D:D:D
Your story deeply touched my heart. I know how you might feel, but think of the good times together and the tremendous amount of love you gave to her until last minute. That's all that counts. Only counts what we share/give in our lives.
xoxo
