Reintroduction?

It's been awhile...
Life has a way of tossing you into a blender and leaving you discombobulated. It takes awhile for the pieces to fall back together. Albeit, in a different way. There have been so many life changing events over the past 4 years.
The 3 biggest include moving from Houston, TX to central Indiana where I know absolutely no one locally. MIL lives about an hour and a half away and I occasionally meet and retreat with her wonderful group of ladies.
Another event is the loss of the sister of my heart, partner in crime and best friend of over 45 years just 2 years ago. She posted here as QuiltDragon. I miss her terribly. My MIL, is also a member, but I don't recall her user name... It's been that long!
The third and most recent change is our daughter has graduated high school and has moved off to college! She is our only child.. officially making us empty-nesters. Lots of big changes!
I've come back to the board as I've lost most of my quilt mojo.
The Quilting Board is always a great source of inspiration, information, and connection. So here I am.
Connecting with local quilters would be wonderful, too!
I'm an individual member of the Modern Quilt Guild, however, I've not joined the Indianapolis MQG.
MIL and I are going back to Raleigh, NC for QuiltCon in February. I'm very much looking forward to it!

Welcome back! I hope you are inspired to start and finish a small project, maybe even a placemat, to get you going again….and we love pictures of projects 😀. And there is a thread for the VQW going on right now, as this is the Virtual Quilt Weekend, come check it out, maybe it will inspire you!

Welcome back to the boards! Not sure if we interacted before, but two years ago I moved to the middle of Illinois where I didn't know anyone. I was very lucky to have a chance encounter with a lady wearing a quilting t-shirt at the auto mechanic's shop. Anyway, if you ever want to meet up somewhere in the middle of our two middles, I'd be up for that as a day trip to a quilt shop or whatever. Hubby is also willing to travel for BBQ
Otherwise, nice to meet you here on the boards too.

Welcome back! I just returned from Indianapolis yesterday! I was visiting with a daughter near Indy. Your local library can often help you find a quilting group but I found that personal invitations work well too. Another option is to just find a quilt shop and ask if there are any guilds or community quilting groups that make donation items for say nursing homes or shelters. They can be the start of a circle of quilting friends that can lead you to a group that fits you and your desire to quilt, sew, craft or just enjoy time together.
In the mean time, the mention of the Virtual Quilt Weekend is a grand place to reconnect to the QB. Another VQW is starting this weekend.. Watch for a post this Friday. No big commitment just a group of folks who want to spend some designated time on a project or two. I will watch for your name. I almost always join in and try to push myself to get something under my needle and maybe off my "To Do List".
