Question Anyone Doing Barbara Brackman's Westering Women BOM?

On the last Wednesday of each month for the next 12 months, Barbara Brackman is doing posting a block and doing a little history on the westward movement via wagon trains. Sounds interesting.

No, I signed up for the http://adventurousquilter.yolasite.com/. The blcoks are done by PPing. 1st time I signed up for a BOM and I am just sticking to one for this year.

I took down the info, added each month's date to the calendar, and hope to kick myself into gear to actually make these instead of keeping them in reference.

Most of my Civil War reproductions are of 1/2 yard or less and the stack is over 14" high. I have GOT to seriously make something with them someday!!

I decided to do this one and I am doing scrappy Civil War fabrics. Love how Barbara does so much research and gives a little history with everything she does.

Went to site....interesting, I recently watched on a pbs station a special on the Donner group going West.......all I can say is, those pioneers were a strong line of people...the hardships endured and aurvived are almost unbelievable....I doubt we have that same spirit now......

and I will follow this one, I think......

Just finishing my 50th block of her civil war sampler. Now to put it together. It has been a chore but love all the history.
